Mulkerins Gap ELA80/3947

The Mulkerins Gap Project is favourable for the occurrence of Unconformity Type uranium deposits, similar to the deposits of Rum Jungle, Jabiluka and Ranger. This type of deposit requires a deep cover of oxidised quartz rich sediment over a reduced basement, together with large dilational faulting to facilitate the movement of acidic brines which may carry uranium in solution. When this solution reaches a reducing environment it precipitates uranium.

The geology of the Mulkerins Gap Project area is prospective for the development of this type of deposit, and contains radiometric anomalies along or close to fault structures.

Exploration Programme

A close line spaced radiometric air survey will be flown over the project area, followed by a ground based radiometric survey together with rock chip and soil sampling over all of the radiometric anomalies that are evident on the air survey. Stream samples will also be taken and checked for other mineral anomalies which may be located in the tenement.

Any radiometric anomalies that are derived from uranium will be drilled to determine their extent.
