Texas Downs E80/3422, ELA80/3998, ELA80/3999

The Texas Downs Project is located in the Halls Creek Mobile Zone in the Eastern Kimberley Region, and represents a large untested area which is anomalous in nickel and copper from past stream sediment sampling. Many of the anomalous results occur along a north east trending corridor, which could be coincident with a fault off the major trans-current Halls Creek Fault.

This structure and the geological setting, gives rise to the potential of a nickel deposit with similar characteristics to the major Noril’sk Deposit in Russia. This consists of a magmatic copper-nickel deposit in a differentiated mafic-ultramafic intrusion.

Exploration Programme

Follow up sampling, both stream sediment and soil sampling will be initiated in the areas of anomalous results from the previous sampling, together with geological and structural mapping being carried out through the areas of interest. Geophysical surveys will be carried out to define the structural components in the project area.

Access tracks and roads will be put into the areas of interest to facilitate the entry of drill rigs. Drilling will take place over all anomalies generated from the previous sampling, mapping and geophysical surveys. Drilling will be on a grid basis and will target potential blind deposits as well as any surface expressions which are discovered.
